I try to share the bits and pieces of what I had learned throughout my career in the form of blog posts, newsletters, and YouTube videos all built around one thing: how to actually do good SEO.

There's no theory-for-theory's-sake, there's plenty of that elsewhere. Just the real systems, decisions, and reasoning behind the work.

You get a senior SEO working directly on your website with full implementation. I do the strategy, I can make the changes on your site and I help or run your website completely for you, if you don't have a dev team. You only get me, no agency markups, no juniors working on your business, no unnecessary fees. If you've been burned before by people who were great on the sales call and invisible after it, this is the opposite of that.

Most common problems I try to solve

If you are experiencing any of these right now, you're probably in the right place.

"We don't know where to start"

From the outside, SEO looks impossibly complex.

Hundreds of ranking factors, conflicting advice on every one of them, and a zero-sum game on top: for your site to move up, another one has to move down. When you can't see the rules, every decision feels like a bet. In practice, a handful of things decide most of the outcome for any given site.

Most of my job is keeping it understandable and showing you what moved, why it moved, and what we're doing about it.

"We're doing SEO but it's not turning into sales or leads"

Rankings and revenue are two different problems. A website that ranks for the wrong intent, or sends people somewhere that doesn't convert, doesn't really show up any differently than a page that doesn't rank at all.

What you rank for should be what your buyers are actually looking for, and the traffic should land somewhere that sells.

"Our website and our SEO are run by different people"

You have an agency that built the site, then a consultant that did SEO recommendations, and a developer that needs to implement that doesn't understand how proper SEO needs to be done. Everything gets delayed for weeks and a bunch of stuff never ends up getting done. On WordPress I do all three jobs, so everything is instant, and you get results as fast as possible.

I am the person who builds the SEO strategy, implements it on the site and keep making refinements until we get results.

"Recommendations never actually ship"

Most SEO advice dies in a backlog.

There's an audit with 200 issues, a roadmap everyone agreed with, and six months later the site doesn't really generate any new business because most of the stuff was not implemented.

I don't hand you a document and wish you luck. I make the change, track everything, refine, improve and you can see it all happening in realtime.

Areas of focus for clients I work with

I work with a small number of businesses at a time. You get direct access to me, consistent involvement, and a strategy built and executed around how your business actually makes money.

Vukasin Ilic

SEO consultant and WordPress builder based in Novi Sad, Serbia. I work with businesses across the US and EU, remotely.

My name is Vuk. I've been doing SEO for more than half my life.

15 years in SEO. And I am 29 now. That means I've spent more than half my life doing this.

Over those 15 years, I worked in-house, I worked for other marketing agencies, I freelanced, I co-founded an SEO tool for WordPress, and I built and ran my own sites.

Client work taught me how to get results without full control. Running my own businesses taught me what to do when it's my own money on the line. When I work with a business, I try to bring the honesty of the second kind to the constraints of the first.

What this looks like in practice

Some engagements where the work stood out

Industrial parts manufacturer

68,000 indexable URLs but fewer than 8,000 that mattered, a JavaScript product grid and analytics that underreported organic revenue.

See what I did

I spent 6 months rebuilding the site architecture, fixing the crawling and indexing issues, running a full SSR migration and mapping keywords and intent across thousands of pages. I also built an automated research-and-write pipeline in Python for product page content, plus a lot of smaller deliverables. Page-1 keywords grew 27% (587 → 745) and search went from background noise to the largest non-direct revenue source in the business.

Wholesale D2C fashion brand

A prominent brand stuck outside the top 3 for almost all of its most important keywords.

+550%

Organic traffic

+372%

Top 3 keywords

See what I did

I ran a site-wide internal linking campaign, fully reworked their collection pages and deleted around 30% of the pages that were causing cannibalization. Rankings started moving within 2 months. By month 8 they held nearly 75% of the top 3 positions for the 200 keywords we picked on day 1.

Music equipment retailer

A store with a deep product range and flat organic growth, in a niche where customers have high LTV.

Organic transactions

See what I did

I worked through the technical foundations, optimized the category pages, rebuilt and optimized the product pages and ran a strong authority and brand-building push. Organic revenue grew 74% within 6 months.

Global HR software company

A fast-growing HR platform with little organic presence in its key markets, a wasted crawl budget and thin backlinks.

Page-1 keywords

See what I did

I cleaned up the crawl budget and the technical issues holding the site back, then rebuilt the site structure around the keyword strategy so every page had a clear target. From there I focused on the locations that performed best and built links to strengthen a thin profile, in a very competitive HR software market. Organic traffic grew 667% and organic leads 118% in 8 months.

Marble and stone supplier

A 30-year-old stone business with strong competitors, a site that took 3+ seconds to load and products that were hard to find.

Results in under a year

Organic traffic

+234%

Page-1 keywords

+47%

Organic leads

See what I did

I mapped keywords around how people actually search for stone: by material, by application and by color. Then I sped the site up, built a custom WordPress post type so their collections were easy to browse, found the gaps competitors had left open and ran a link building campaign with relevant, quality links. Organic traffic grew 175%, page-1 keywords 234% and organic leads 47%.

US manufacturer (AI search)

AI tools sent them their best-converting visitors, but mostly when buyers already knew the company's name.

+30%

Daily AI traffic

See what I did

I ran 150 real buyer questions through ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode and mapped all 449 answers. Their site was the most-cited domain in the audit, but AI kept quoting their content without naming them. So I added the brand to the pages AI already trusted, rebuilt key pages in the shape AI likes to cite and set up proper AI tracking in GA4. Conversions from AI went from 16 in the three months before to 35 in the 12 weeks after.

Things people tend to ask

What's it like working with just one person instead of an agency?

You get one senior person who does the strategy, the implementation and the hands-on work, without the $150k+ salary, the headcount, or a long commitment. On WordPress that includes the site itself. I don't hand you a document and wait for your developer, I make the changes myself. When execution needs more hands, I bring in a writer or a specialist I trust and manage them myself. You're dealing with one accountable person the whole way, not an account manager relaying messages to a junior.

How long until we see results?

Meaningful results usually start showing in 3–6 months, with real compounding returns after 6–12 months. SEO is a long-term channel, so if a consultant or agency promises faster, they're selling something else. My job is to get you there faster than you would without senior direction, and without wasting budget on work that doesn't compound into more leads and sales.

Do I need to commit long-term?

No. Month-to-month, paid upfront, with an option to cancel whenever. SEO is a long-term channel and most engagements run 12+ months, but you should stay because the work is getting you results and not because a contract locks you in.

What do you actually deliver each month?

Depends on what the business needs. Some months are heavy on diagnosis and strategy such as technical analysis, keyword research, planning the next quarter. Other months are heavy on execution: building new pages, template and on-page work, fixing technical issues, keeping the site updated and fast, or reviewing what your team shipped. The mix shifts as priorities shift. No fixed deliverable list - we work on whatever matters most at that moment.

What kind of businesses are the best fit?

Businesses that run on WordPress, whether that's a store or a service business, and are serious about organic search as a long-term channel. If you want one person to own the site and the search channel, that's where I work the best. If you only need senior direction and your own team executes, we can make that happen as well.

What kind of businesses are NOT a good fit?

Small brochure sites, individual portfolio sites or anybody that doesn't need have enough lead potential to justify having an SEO operator on board. Beyond that, the fit is more about you than anything else.

Why only 5 Operator seats?

Because I do the work. There's no team behind the seat, no junior, no account manager. 5 is the number where every client gets enough of my attention and dedication to move the project forward in the fastest way.

What happens if you disappear?

Nothing breaks. You own the site, the hosting account, the domain, the content, the data, the SEO strategy and all the execution I did. Everything is documented, and nothing about it depends on me. If we stop working together, you hand the website and the strategy to the next person and they pick it up. That's the whole reason I build on WordPress and not on a platform that rents you your own website.

Do you work with websites built on other platforms?

I prefer WordPress because that's where I can build and run the site as well as rank it, and that's the part clients get the most out of. I do make exception in situations where a client has a really good in-house team and can handle and ship changes fast.
